| Wow, sorry for the long(ish) absence. Not that anyone really reads this since I been such a slacker. So, how about some updates in the different aspects of my current life? Joys of Teaching: -Last Tuesday, I got asked to return to SCC next semester! Not sure what my teaching schedule will be yet but at least I know I will be working. -Thursday a student asked if I was teaching any of the more advanced Chem labs. Yay for doing something enough right that a student wants to be under my instruction again! Though, the answer to his question is no.
Christmas Prep: I continue to make slow progress on the seemingly endless list. Dustin has been very supportive and helpful when he can be. Since the projects are all sewing, it's not very often he can assist though he helped me pin on of the big projects together which really cut down the time I would have had to spend. As of now, I think the list is about 2/3 of the way done. I should really get off the internet and get some more done.
General Life: Grandma is now here and in honor of her extended stay, my inlaws invited the Direct TV man over for an evening. Yes, all the tvs in the house are now capable of accessing 200 channels. Dustin is happy to have sports and SiFy. I could care less. Though I am loving the not having to cook thing.

| Christmas Prep: If only I could get my camera and its cord and the laptop in the same place, I might post some pictures of what I have been working on. Christmas sewing is coming along nicely. I only have two of the main gifts left to cut out. Last night I wrapped up my last day of extra teaching at SCC by giving a sewing lesson. While she sewed, I coached her and made progress on my projects by cutting stuff out. Since it's looking like my Christmas projects will be complete in the next 4-6 weeks, I am beginning to wonder what I am going to do with all the newly found "free" time. Idol hands are the devil's plaything and I am happiest/lest depressed when busy with a short term goal. Anyone have ideas?

| Joys of Teaching: I have to honor and privilege to sub for Dr Bookstaver the rest of the week and OMG he has a full schedule. He either picked a good time to be gone or worked the syllabus around this week because all I have to do is go over 2 sets of lab evaluations (exactly like the one I went over today with my own class) and proctor 6 tests- no lectures, no real interactions with his students. When you add in my schedale, it makes for quite a busy rest of the week. However, all this proctoring will allow for ample time to grade labs. So if I have not finished grading after about 9 hours of waiting for students to finish their test, somebody slap me aside the head and take my internet privileges away.

| General Life: What a crazy morning. Went craft fair-ing with Mom and Oma this morning. Then took Oma garage sale-ing and she took us girls out to luch. Dad locked his keys in his truck, so Dustin can by the restaurant to pick Dawn up so she could go unlock Dad's truck. Janice and I took Oma home then went got to a family picnic just in time for everyone to leave. I went treasure-hunting at GoodWill. Found some good stuff and some not so good stuff.
Christmas Prep: Completely finished the little nightgowns and the birthday presents. Trying to decide what to work on next- so many projects to pick between and non rank more important than the others.

| Oh, The Joys Of Teaching
Over the last couple of days, I have not felt so well but my urge to be productive push me one. I used some of my "I just don't want to do anything" time to update the grade on WebCT and inform my classes of the drop date. Doesn't take much energy, but it's a paint in the you-know-what. Several students have contacted me to inform of some discrepancies, and as they have come along, I have tried to fix them. Most have been pretty easy going about the whole thing. The email said to bring their labs with them today if the grade didn't match, so a few did. Then this afternoon, I get an email from an upset (maybe angry) student saying how can she tell what her grade is in class if I don't post all of the grades. Hmm, um well sweetie, 1) why don't you inform me nicely which of your grades are missing or incorrect and 2) I GAVE YOU BACK EVERYTHING SO FAR, so go figure it out yourself.
Can you tell she is barely passing/ failing??? Not my fault that you missed two classes and are making poor grades.
